More than just a shower
A No Nonsense Approach

There comes a time when an additional set of eyes can help lead the way to something totally different.  That was the case with this client who wanted to finish re-tiling a shower.  The ambitious couple had started renovating their master bath shower due to a shower pan leak.  The handy husband wife team had started by removing all the tile and old green board inside of their 52 x 46 shower.  Then, a small blessing appeared which precluded them from completing the job themselves – the “Mrs” was expecting.  She had managed to work through many of the months prior without any issues, but now, further along, it was time to call in the reinforcements.

They had first gone with a contractor from one of the “big box” home improvement stores who gave them a rather large quote to simply complete the demo and retile the shower in the same configuration they had originally – not very original.  When we came in, we provided them with two options – retile in the same configuration – or, change the entire look of the room and open up the shower and let the light shine in.

The result: a completely reconfigured shower and tub with updates all around.  We removed the front half of the shower and replaced it with 3/8″ glass.  The back wall of the shower received a very textured travertine which gave it some eye appeal and depth.  We also added his and hers built-in soap boxes.  The old non-whirlpool tub was removed and replaced with a new Jetted and Air Bubble tub – deep enough to cover her up to her neck.  The cabinets were warmed up with custom stain treatment and topped off with beautiful Orion granite – which is even more spectacular in person.  The wallpaper was stripped as was the “pop-corn” ceiling.  An understated textured was added along with crown moulding to break up the 10 foot high walls.  The sliding mirror doors to the closet were replaced with french doors and new lighting with custom mirrors finish off the room.

The transformation speaks for itself.
